Wills and Estate Planning
Laushway Law and its predecessor’s have been assisting the people of Eastern Ontario with their estate planning for over 90 years.
Ensuring that your wishes are carried out smoothly after your death requires careful planning. Our lawyers have the solicitor’s knowledge to draft your will and the litigator’s experience to anticipate and prevent problems that can form the basis of a successful will challenge.
Powers of Attorney
In addition to planning for your death, one of the most important documents each person should have is a power of attorney. Appointing a person you trust to perform financial functions such as paying the bills, signing your cheques and ensuring you are provided for financially when you no longer have capacity prevents a government official at the Public Guardian’s office from stepping in.
It is also important to appoint someone to make medical decisions for you and to set out your wishes in your power of attorney for personal care and living will.
There are specific technical requirements to ensure a valid and enforceable legal document. Laushway Law will ensure that all of your needs are met and the documents are quickly accessible when needed.
